Gov. Eric Holcomb sent cease and desist letters to Reveal and the Indianapolis Star last week over reports he pressured a state safety inspector into reducing penalties against Amazon.

And a legal expert says those letters could signal an impending lawsuit.

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Indiana's inspector general says Gov. Eric Holcomb committed no wrongdoing when he accepted two private jet flights paid for by a casino magnate to Republican Governors Association events.

The inspector general's office investigated whether Holcomb failed to disclose information about gifts received.

The office determined that those gifts - the two flights - were provided to the Republican Governors Association, and not to Holcomb's office.

Gov. Eric Holcomb signed the state’s next two-year budget into law Monday as he defended how Republican budget writers prioritized the state’s dollars.

An environmental group says the state needs more staff to oversee drinking water protections in Indiana.  The Hoosier Environmental Council says the Indiana Department of Environmental Management has suffered a decade of budget cuts.
