United Way Of Elkhart County And United Fund Of LaGrange County Officially Merge

Friday morning United Way of Elkhart County officially merged with United Fund of LaGrange County in hopes to have a greater impact on the entire community.

United Way is a national nonprofit that tries to create solutions for health, education, and financial stability.

The goal of the merger is to attract more funding, save resources, engage more volunteers, and mutually benefit both counties.

Bill Rieth is the president of the newly formed United Way of Elkhart and LaGrange Counties. He said the merger made sense.

“We’re very similar. Similar demographic, similar folks, a lot of the companies cross county boundaries, so it’s very natural.”

Rieth said the merger will help support United Way’s mission - helping families thrive in the community.

Funds raised in each county will support programs in the county where they are raised.
