Public speaking consistently ranks among our greatest fears (in some studies eclipsing even death). But Duane Stoltzfus believes that we can all learn to become more comfortable and effective as speakers. He will draw from his personal challenges with speech anxiety and more than two decades of teaching communication at Goshen College. He tells students that the secret to public speaking is private writing. This will be an interactive class with opportunities to tell stories and practice introductions.

Donors give generously to these nonprofit organizations and in turn they serve our community. Join Marshall King, director of communications for the Community Foundation of Elkhart County, on a bus trip touring some of these nonprofits. We’ll visit agencies across Elkhart County and learn about how they operate and help others thrive. Class size limit 22

Each Saturday, take a step back in time. Visit Pears Mill, an 1857 water-powered mill. Located in Buchanan, Michigan’s downtown Historic District. The mill is adjacent to Buchanan Farmers Market.
