Indiana State Police detectives and veterinarians familiar with pig farms inspected East Fork Farms in Brownstown on October 10th and found no evidence of abuse.
According a to an ISP press release, a second veterinarian from the Indiana Board of Animal Health visited the farm on a separate date and found no evidence of abuse.
PETA sent investigators video it had obtained video showing pigs at that farm living in their own feces, and employees carelessly tossing piglets around.
Investigators determined someone illegally entered the facility at night when no one was around and that hidden cameras were inside the building during the day.
Police say some of the video was staged.
“How it’s possible to stage piles of rotting dead piglets,” says PETA’s Assistant Manager for Investigations Colin Henstock.
PETA says it obtained the video through its anonymous whistleblower program.
“Why would they dismiss the entire tape on the suspicion that some of it was taken elsewhere,” Henstock says.
Last month after the video surfaced, Louisville based JBS distributors announced it was banning East Fork Farms from its supply chain.
