BREAKING UPDATE: Two Men Dead In Mishawaka From Gunfire Are Identified

The St. Joseph County Prosecutor's Office has released the names of the men who died.

The two deceased male individuals have been identified, and family has been
notified. They have been identified as: Brent Gregory, 43 (who was a resident of 16445
Valley Trail) and Kenneth Hunt, 43, of Niles, Michigan.


Autopsies have been scheduled for tomorrow, June 26th, at 9:00 a.m. in Fort Wayne,
Indiana.


The St. Joseph County Metro Homicide Unit (CMHU) continues to actively investigation
and more information will be released as we are able to do so.

The St. Joseph County Prosecutor's Office has released new information on a double death investigation that began early this morning in Mishawaka.

On June 25, 2020 at approximately 12:40 a.m. St. Joseph County Police Department officers responded to the 16000 block of Valley Trail, Mishawaka, IN regarding a report of an Assault in Progress. Upon arriving in the neighborhood, officers discovered two male individuals who were deceased as a result of apparent gunshot wound injuries.


St. Joseph County Police Department officers secured the crime scene. A representative of the St. Joseph County Coroner Office was contacted and per protocol, the St. Joseph County Metro Homicide Unit was activated and is currently handling the investigation.


Witnesses have been interviewed by CMHU Investigators. Investigators are not seeking any suspects at this time and no arrests have been made. The identities of the victims are being withheld pending notification of their families.


This is an active and on-going investigation. An autopsy will be conducted and an update will be provided when more information is available for release.
