Shooting In Mishawaka Leaves One Dead, One Critically Wounded

The St. Joseph County Prosecutor's Office has released details of a late night shooting in Mishawaka.

St. Joseph County –Last evening, August 21st at approximately 11: 28 p.m., the Mishawaka Police Department received a 911 call from 114 S. Roosevelt St. in reference to a shooting. Upon arrival, officers found the victim, Ryan Serafino M/W 28, shot at least once. Paramedics arrived on scene and attempted to revive the victim, and transported him to Memorial Hospital. He was pronounced dead soon thereafter.

The St. Joseph County Metro Homicide Unit (CMHU) was called to investigate.

A second M/W was also transported to the hospital before police / fire arrived on scene.

That person suffered at least one gunshot wound and is currently in critical condition. That person is Brandon Stahl, also 28 years old. We continue to investigate and from the information we have obtained to this point, believe Stahl and Sarafino were shooting at each other during an altercation inside the residence.
