After cancelling last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, organizers have announced dates for the 2021 Elkhart Jazz Festival.
Festival co-chair Ben Decker said organizers are planning this year’s festival for June 17-20.
“It’s really exciting, I mean, potentially, folks experiencing some of their first live music opportunity over the course of the past year,” he said.
Decker said while organizers haven’t submitted a COVID-19 safety plan for county approval yet, they have been in communication with health officials about how to keep attendees safe.
He said organizers are looking for indoor venues where attendees can safely distance, and that masking and outdoor distancing will be required.
“That’s gonna get us to a place where we can actually join together and experience some live music back in Elkhart,” Decker said.
All plans for the festival are subject to county approval and state guidelines in place in June. Decker said he expects artist lineups to be announced in early April.
