Organizers say after a year of “much improvisation and watching for the cues,” the Elkhart Jazz Festival is officially on for this June.
To keep attendance at COVID-safe levels, Jazz Festival organizer Ben Decker said tickets will be sold by day, rather than for the full weekend.
Attendees will also have to select their seats inside the Lerner Theatre to keep social distancing in place.
Organizers also released a lineup for the festival, which includes Grammy-nominated pianist Monty Alexander, Billboard-charting artist Carol Albert and several local groups and soloists.
Decker said the festival will be the first chance for many artists to travel and perform for a crowd in more than a year.
“Their excitement is helping us build for this event because they’re really… uh, jazzed up about getting out to play live music,” Decker said.
The 2021 Elkhart Jazz Festival is set to run from June 17-20.
