Brandon Williams was killed in the Kelly’s Pub mass shooting two years ago. Now, his life is being commemorated on Sept. 25 — the South Bend Common Council passed a special resolution Sept. 13 in honor of Williams to establish a day of remembrance for murder victims.

Events are planned across the community from 1-4 p.m. Saturday. At 1 p.m. at the County-City Building, city leaders will gather to remember the 134 people who have been murdered in South Bend over the last 10 years.

At 2 p.m., a mobile art exhibit will be unveiled at Howard Park by South Bend Community Schools students whose lives have been impacted by murder. The exhibit will eventually travel around South Bend.

At 3 p.m., family, friends and survivors will gather to remember victims of gun violence at Kelly’s Pub. A dedication to Brandon Williams will also be given.
