South Bend schools will end their food service contract with Chartwells on June 30 and move operations in-house, a change expected to save $1.3 million.

The South Bend Community School Corporation is looking to keep its chief financial officer in place. The school board Monday approved a contract extension for Ahnaf Tahmid, after community members voiced their support during public comment.
