Elkhart Environmental Center

This Saturday, community volunteers will work with city staff to plant about 100 trees along Oakdale Drive, Southdale Drive and Christian Avenue.

Although Earth Day is Tuesday, April 22, the Elkhart Environmental Center and Unity Gardens in South Bend are two of the local environmental groups who are waiting until Saturday, April 26 to celebrate.

The City of Elkhart has launched the Trees for the Hart program, an initiative to plant over 2,000 trees by 2028.
