Elkhart County Prosecutor Vicki Becker Thursday announced that Elkhart Police officers Thomas Breneman and Nicholas Ragsdale were justified under the law of self-defense in fatally shooting 17-year-old Bryan Ramirez Gomez on Feb. 8.

Elkhart police say an officer was investigating a suspicious vehicle parked at the High Dive Park Pavilion, just after 1:30 Sunday morning. About 13 minutes after the first officer arrived, police say two officers discharged their firearms.
