Mural Mania

The University of Notre Dame's Institute for Social Concerns invites the public to an event Thursday at 5 p.m. celebrating a new mural by South Bend native Oscar Joyo depicting four noted figures from the city's west side.

The artists for Downtown South Bend's 2026 Mural Mania wrapped up their work Monday. Organizers are seeking donations to pay some unexpected costs.

Seven artists from around the country, including one from South Korea, will start painting murals in South Bend on Wednesday.

Alex Ann Allen says she's a big WNBA and Indiana Fever fan, so being selected by the Indy Arts Council would be a "dream come true."

Artists from around the country last week painted seven murals as part of Downtown South Bend Inc.'s fourth annual Mural Mania. It's funded by the city, philanthropic grants, payments from building owners, and GoFundMe.
