Los estudiantes de 5 a 15 años pueden unirse a nosotros todos los viernes (de 4-5PM) para el taller de baile latino en el Teatro Goshen. Las clases comienzan el 12 de septiembre. La matrícula es de $10 por clase. El 13 de diciembre de 2025, a las 2PM, se realizará una presentación final para mostrar lo que los estudiantes han estado trabajando durante el semestre. La clase estará a cargo de Nelitze Guillarte. La instructora compartirá cualquier costo adicional de vestuario una vez que comience el semestre. Raku Fired Clay for Experienced Potters with instructor Len Cockman

Raku Fired Pottery Workshop

Instructor: Len Cockman

Classes: Wednesdays 6:30-8:30 p.m.

Course Length: 8 studio sessions

Maximum of 5 students

Studio Space: This class is geared toward students who already have experience in a clay studio. Len Cockman will be able to coach you through refining hand-built and wheel thrown pieces. Students enrolled in this class are eligible to one additional open studio day per week. Studio hours are listed on the website and front door. Production of forms will take place during the first 4 weeks of this class.

Fees: $210 tuition plus $45 materials. Total $255 The supply fee includes one 25 lb. bag of Raku appropriate clay (half a box) and use of FireArts glazes. Glazes that will be used are for Raku decorative pottery and, primarily due to the firing techniques, are not kitchenware safe. Your work will be fired to various temperatures based on the specific glaze during the last four weeks of the class.

Covid 19 Consideration: There are currently no restrictions related to Covid-19.

Format: We will be working with wet clay for the first 4 classes. Classes 5 through 8 we will firing pottery based on the specific glazes. They are:

Wednesdays, March 19th, 26th, April 2nd, and April 9th: Students will use these four sessions to create work for the raku firings.

Wednesday, April 16th: Clear crackle with tape or glue resists.

Wednesday, April 23rd: Naked Raku Slip

Wednesday, April 30th : Horsehair and Feather Pottery

Wednesday, May 7th: Copper Matte and Copper Luster

Create useful, beautiful and functional works of art. This three-day workshop explores hand building and glazing techniques. Equipment, clay, glazes and firing will be provided.

The Alaya Project is the essential bridge between the intricate Carnatic style of Indian classical music and contemporary jazz and funk. Born in the cultural bastion of Oakland, California, The Alaya Project explores new textures and perspectives built over two decades of friendship, dialogue, and musical immersion across genres and continents.

The driving hybrid kit grooves of Indian percussionist and drummer Rohan Krishnamurthy, the soulful Ragas and melodies of Prasant Radhakrishnan on saxophone, and the harmonic bedrock of Colin Hogan embodies the permanence of a changing soundscape.

Stroll or take a horse drawn wagon ride through the Near Northwest Neighborhood to enjoy the annual Arts Cafe. The event hosts a variety of booths to include food, artists and crafters. Musicians will be performing throughout the day. Various service organizations from the South Bend area will be present. This is a family friendly event so bring the children as there will be supervised games for children. Houses that have been rehabbed or built will be open to view. The event begins on Sunday, September 21 from 12 noon to 6 PM.
