BREAKING: Gov. Holcomb just announced that the state will remain at Stage 4.5 and that the face mask mandate will remain in place for another month . That mandate has no consequences for those who do not comply.

Here is a link to the details of Stage 4.5 in Indiana's "Back on Track" plan.

That means that Holcomb is extending the state’s limits on crowd sizes for restaurants, bars and public events. That means, for instance, restaurants can only be at 75% capacity, while bars, nightclubs and tourism sites are at 50%. Those orders were all set to expire late Wednesday. Holcomb said he doesn't want the state’s rate of new coronavirus cases to start growing again. Democratic governor candidate Woody Myers says Indiana should join other states with possible criminal penalties for mask mandate violators.

Dr. Kris Box announced that new guidance will also be offered for schools based on county by county COVID-19 metrics. That information will be debuted online next week on Wednesday, Sept. 2nd.
