South Bend Community School Corporation's Recently Created Virtual School Now Enrolling Students

Justin Hicks / WVPE

South Bend Community School Corporation's virtual school program is now enrolling full-time students. Covering kindergarten through grade 12, it was created last year in response to the pandemic.

In a news release, the district said grades nine through twelve will be taught by South Bend Community School Corporation teachers, while kindergarten through eighth grade will use teachers from online learning company Edmentum until the district hires more staff.

Students enrolled in the school will receive a free Chromebook, and do not have to reside in the district to enroll.

The program also has a physical space in the former Perley School building for the office of principal Mansour Eid and to conduct state testing.
