The Indiana Senate Education and Career Development Committee will give a first hearing Wednesday to Granger Republican Sen. Linda Rogers' bill to have a state-appointed board replace the locally elected South Bend Community Schools board.

The South Bend school board is forming a committee to review discipline data under a decades-old federal desegregation order and report findings in January.

The school corporation says it's already told Clay families their options once the school closes after this school year
