South Bend is giving Aunalytics $1.5 million for the company to build a data center in Ignition Park

Gov. Eric Holcomb on Thursday announced that Amazon is officially the company behind a record breaking development deal in St. Joseph County.

The Mishawka council annexed three separate properties around the city for possible future development.

The area between Capital Avenue, Bittersweet and Cleveland Roads could see a data center developed, though community members expressed concerns

The potential $11 billion price tag may be the largest development in the history of the state.

The historic development sees the city partner with Beacon and Great Lakes Capital in bringing a $150 project to the north side of downtown.

The next step in the secretive project is for the St. Joseph County Council to sign off on rezoning the land.

The $150 million project will bring 200 apartment units, a 100-bed hotel as well as retail and office space to the 300 and 400 blocks of Main Street in downtown South Bend.

Dave Matthews says he will open grocery store in first floor of apartment, seven years after taking money from city's redevelopment commission.

Great Lakes Capitial announced their plans for the site, which sits near Bar Louie in Granger.
