88.1 WVPE Public Radio is pleased to announce Justin Hicks has joined the reporting team for Indiana Public Broadcasting News (IPB News) through funding made available by Indiana Public Broadcasting Stations (IPBS.)

Justin will be based out of WVPE in his new role as a Workforce Development Reporter for IPB News.

Dinosaurs are once again stomping and snorting their way across the screen of your local movie theater.  But these beefy beasts stole the show long before CGI brought them back in the Jurassic Parkblockbusters.  Dinosaurs had global dominance for the better part of 165 million years. Compare that with a measly 56 million years of primate activity. We bow to our evolutionary overlords in this episode.

Michiana Chronicles: Oxalis

Forty years ago, on a spring day much like the ones we’ve longed for since December, my college friends Colleen and Jeff packed up their U-Haul and drove off, leaving me standing in their driveway holding their houseplant, an oxalis. I didn’t know that a person could own one potted plant across an entire lifetime. But now, four decades later, that same oxalis has spent the winter in our south-facing upstairs window, waiting like us, for spring, when it can go back outside.
