Deadline Extended For Applicants To South Bend's Board Of Public Safety

https://southbendin.gov

Today a spokesman for South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg announced a deadline extension for individuals who want to serve on the city's Board of Public Safety.  The board and its role has come under more scrutiny following the June 16th police killing of Eric Logan. As of today's announcement, the city has received fewer than ten applications. That's up from just two applications received as of last week.

Here's the statement from the Mayor's Office:

The Office of the Mayor has extended the deadline to apply to fill the vacancy on the Board of Public Safety. The application deadline is now Wednesday, August 14. The deadline was previously August 5.
