Indiana Tops 500,000 Job Losses

State of Indiana

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Federal officials say more than half a million people in Indiana have applied for unemployment benefits over the past five weeks as job losses mount across the country. Indiana had about 75,000 new jobless claims filed last week. Indiana Gov. Eric Holcomb has said he might ease some business restriction next week. But Indianapolis Mayor Joe Hogsett said Thursday some business leaders were worried about lifting restrictions too fast, which he believed risked causing renewed outbreaks.
