The Indiana Hoosiers defeated the Idaho Vandals 56-14 in Bloomington Saturday night.

IU improved to 1-1 overall and 0-1 in Big Ten play in what was the first game played in front of fans since 2019.  No fans were allowed last season due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Quarterback Michael Penix Jr. threw two touchdowns and ran for another.  Indiana also scored on two punt returns for touchdowns.

"Our student section is unbelievable, they were there an hour before kickoff, loud and I just want to thank them," said Head Coach Tom Allen.

Indiana will host 7th ranked Cincinnati on September 18th at noon.  The Bearcats defeated Murray State 42-7 on Saturday.
