Democratic Presidential Candidates Plan Upcoming Rallies In Michigan Ahead Of The Primary

The leading Democratic presidential candidates are heading for Michigan…as the state prepares for party primary elections next week.

About a half-dozen states hold primaries next Tuesday and Michigan is the most delegate-rich among them. That’s attracting Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders who is scheduled to hold a rally at Detroit’s TCF Center on Friday and another in Grand Rapids on Sunday.

Sanders who un-expectedly beat Hillary Clinton in Michigan’s primary four years ago, marched with United Auto Workers during their recent strike and has consistently drawn huge crowds in the state.

Rival candidate Joe Biden also has a history with Detroit having helped the city after it emerged from bankruptcy in 2014.

The Detroit News reports the former Vice President will campaign in the city the evening before the primary polls open and will also attend a fundraiser in Grosse Pointe Farms that features Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan.
