Biden And Sanders Campaign In Michigan Ahead Of Tuesday Primary

Former Vice President Joe Biden plans events of both sides of Michigan today as he heads toward what could be a pivotal Democratic primary election in Michigan on Tuesday.

Biden is scheduled to campaign in Grand Rapids before attending a fundraiser in Metro Detroit and then holding an evening rally at Renaissance High School in Detroit.

He’s had a flood of high-profile endorsements since his sweeping series of wins on Super Tuesday made him the Democratic frontrunner for the nomination.

And Biden has long-standing ties to Michigan having helped the Obama Administration’s bail out of the state’s auto industry. He also worked to ease Detroit’s exit from bankruptcy.

Democratic presidential candidate U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., speaks during a campaign rally at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Mich., Sunday, March 8, 2020.

But rival candidate Bernie Sanders has been barnstorming through Michigan all weekend touting his differences with Biden on trade policy, women’s rights and what Sanders calls his ability to best connect with working families in the state.
