The Chicago Bears haven't finalized the site of their new stadium but they recently asked the South Bend Chamber to have its members complete a survey on premium seating options.

When asked whether Indiana’s stadium package is more beneficial to Indiana or Illinois, Rep. Earl Harris Jr. (D-East Chicago) said it’ll be “a win-win for both.”

Bears President and CEO Kevin Warren says a site at Lost Marsh was found to be viable, while due diligence continues on a nearby Wolf Lake Terminals site.

"I think that is so tangential to everything else, that’s not going to make a difference," Gov. Braun said during a press conference Thursday.

The Illinois legislature, worried about spending public money on a new stadium as residents struggle with affordability, ended their session Monday without a deal to help the Bears move to Arlington Heights, Ill.

The Chicago Bears say a “megaprojects” bill passed by the Illinois House needs more work. The team is considering whether to build a new stadium in Arlington Heights, Illinois or Hammond, Indiana.

"We don’t get ahead of our skis," said Indiana Governor Mike Braun. "All I can tell you is we move at the speed of business, and we made it easy to get where it is and we’ll keep performing accordingly."

"‘Bearsville’ – that’s the vision," Mayor Tom McDermott Jr. said during a press conference Thursday. "I want it to be like a section of our city."

Portage has unveiled a proposal for a 300-acre development it’s calling “Halas Harbor,” which would be located near U.S. 12, State Road 249, I-94 and the South Shore Line.

The city unveiled its proposal on Friday, complete with renderings of a potential “stadium district.” The proposed sites are at Buffington Harbor near the Gary/Chicago Airport, along I-80/94 near the Hard Rock Casino and east of U.S. Steel near Miller Beach.
