The Indiana Department of Natural Resources has not announced their timeline for demolishing the historic Naragon Barn, which they now say stands too close to the $100 million inn and conference center under construction at Potato Creek State Park. The DNR initially told the community the barn would remain standing as part of the project.

"It’s pretty outstanding," said Concord Community Schools Director of Music Bryan Golden. "It’s a nice recognition of our efforts throughout the years, our desire for excellence and keeping the standards high for the students."

After the Rabbi Shulman Apartments are demolished by mid-April, the city of South Bend, South Bend Housing Authority and Community Foundation of St. Joseph County will partner in a new $43 million rental housing development.

A South Bend police officer who recently pleaded guilty to domestic battery in the presence of a child and resisting law enforcement has officially been fired. Emanuel Garcia was accused of assaulting his girlfriend in front of her children at his home, back in February.

St. Joseph County Sheriff's Department Cpl. Bryce LaCosse says he's used drones for catching suspects, monitoring SWAT situations and reconstructing crash scenes, but this was his first time finding a missing person with a drone.

The money comes to the state from the Lilly Endowment, as part of Indiana's regional approach to economic development launched under former Gov. Eric Holcomb.
