Join a naturalist in a creative space for adults (18+) who love exploring the outdoors and capturing its beauty through art and words. This beginner-friendly club is all about slowing down, observing nature and connecting with other nature lovers. Bring your favorite journal, curiosity, and a sense of wonder! We will use writing prompts to spark inspiration and provide tips on how to use mixed media such as pencil, paint, photography, and collage.

Anne Heaton Trio will be in concert at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Elkhart Friday, October 2 at 7 p.m.

Award-winning singer-songwriter and educator Anne Heaton has captured audience imaginations with her songs that are, by turns, “tender, barbed and spiritual” (Washington Post). She’s been featured by the New York Times Music Podcast, NPR, the Sundance Film Festival and Lilith Fair (2010). Anne has shared the stage with artists like Jewel, Sarah McLachlan, and jazz drummer Max Roach. Anne teaches songwriting at Berklee College of Music and GRAMMY Camp. She recently earned her Master’s in Education at the University of Wisconsin-Madison where she researched the outcomes of songwriting as a social emotional learning tool for teenagers. In March 2025, Anne presented a TEDx talk on how songwriting helps teens (and people of all ages) cultivate empathy, connection, and authenticity. This October, Anne joins forces with dynamic percussionist and music therapist Carolyn Koebel (Bobby McFerrin, Dacia Bridges) and violinist Cori Somers (Aretha Franklin, Yo-Yo Ma, Red Sea Pedestrians) to form a lively and powerful trio. Anne, Carolyn, and Cori love performing together! They also believe that creative expression (whether through performing or teaching) supports people in navigating their challenges and nurturing joy and resilience.

Tickets cost $20 and can be purchased online using the link on the UUFE website or at the door.

The Chicago Art Girls are thrilled to announce our first Pop Up Shop in Three Oaks, Michigan, an inspiring marketplace showcasing the creativity and talent of Chicago and Michigan women artists. Join us on October 10 & 11 at The Commune, located at 105 N. Elm Street Three Oaks Michigan, 11am- 5pm Saturday and 11-4pm Sunday. This event is the perfect opportunity to start your holiday shopping, to meet friends and shop for unique, handmade items for everyone on your list—including yourself!
With a carefully curated selection of artwork, shoppers can explore a diverse range of items, including jewelry, wearable art, home décor, photography, paintings and more. ABOUT CHICAGO ART GIRLS: Chicago Art Girls began as a small group of local, independent women artists who met and bonded while exhibiting their work at various regional and national art fairs. In the late ‘90s, they established an informal support group for networking and community support. In 2012, the group members formed a non profit and began hosting pop-up shops, showcasing their talents while promoting local handmade arts.
