IDOH to send COVID-19 testing and vaccination team to Elkhart

(Justin Hicks/IPB News)

Ahead of the holidays, the Indiana Department of Health is sending a COVID-19 “strike team” to the Elkhart County Health Department.

Free COVID-19 testing and vaccination will be available from noon to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 15 through Saturday, Dec. 18 at the health department’s main office (608 Oakland Ave., Elkhart, IN 46516).

Both rapid and PCR tests will be available, as well as the Pfizer, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson vaccines.

Walk-ins are welcome, but masks will be required. You can also schedule an appointment online or by calling 211.

All Hoosiers age 5 and older are eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine, but only the Pfizer vaccine is approved for those under age 18. Parental consent is required for anyone under age 18 to receive a shot.
