UPDATE: State To Offer COVID-19 Testing In LaGrange County

Today the LaGrange County Health Department announced that the Indiana State Dept. of Health will offer mobile COVID-19 testing in the county Thursday and Friday (June 18 and 19.)

Monday the LaGrange County Health Department announced that the county will start requiring face masks.

Since June 1, the county has seen a 230% increase in cases of coronavirus based on Indiana State Dept. of Health statistics.

On May 31st the county had 84 cases of COVID-19. As of June 14th, the county had 277 cases, an increase of 193 cases in two weeks.

According to the LaGrange Co. Health Department, "Effective immediately, face masks covering the nose and mouth must be worn in:

-an indoor area open to the public, including public transportation and including van transportation

-an outdoor public area where a distance of six feet from individuals outside of one's household cannot be maintained

-a private indoor or outdoor area where a distance of six feet from individuals outside of one's household cannot be maintained."  

The county health department goes on to say, "Our county has witnessed a sharp rise in COVID-19 illnesses and our best defense is hand washing, social distancing and wearing masks."
